Rohini Rathour – Founder & Trustee

Rohini set up Raindrop Campaign in Feb 2012 as the most transparent and tax efficient way to make a difference to a cause close to her heart. She believes that education is one of the best routes out of poverty by providing children access to opportunities that might otherwise be outside their reach.

Rohini grew up in India but has been living in England since 1991. She is currently a business and life coach and a part time hula-hoop fitness instructor. Previously she spent nearly twenty years working for a wealth management firm in London as a fund manager. She lives in Bromley with her husband and two children.

Rohit Sthalekar – Chairman

Rohit pic for websiteRohit is a solicitor by profession and has supported various charities and community organisations over the years. He was born  in India but has lived in England for most of his life. He has a particular interest in helping children from deprived and disadvantaged communities.

Rohit has been an active trustee of Raindrop for over five years, helping with fund raising efforts and visits to our previous project in India. In his new role as Chairman Rohit is keen to build on the foundations already laid down  and helping us to reach a wider audience of well-wishers and donors.

 

Kanchan Rao – Treasurer

Kanchan photo for websiteKanchan is a chartered accountant by qualification but for the last eight years has moved away from the corporate world to be involved in a variety of activities in different voluntary and charitable organisations in the UK.  She has been a trustee and Treasurer for Raindrop since its inception.

Kanchan lives in Surrey with her husband and two teenage sons, and thanks to a typical dining table conversation around her, she is now very well-versed with the finer details English Premier League football clubs!! Her other interests include reading and travelling the world.

 

Shashikant Bailoor – Trustee

Shashi Bailoor pic for websiteShashikant is a qualified mechanical engineer and holds a Masters degree in Production Technology from Brunel University. He served the engineering industry in the UK for over forty years. Now in his mid seventies he has been retired for over ten years and uses his spare time volunteering and raising money for charitable causes in the UK and in India.

For the past 25 years he has been on the managing committee of Saraswat Samaj UK, a community organisation providing a social and cultural platform to a section of the Indian community in the UK.  He has been a trustee for Raindrop Campaign since its inception.

 

Gurdeep Rathour – Trustee

Gurdeep pic for websiteGurdeep is a qualified chemical engineer and spent over sixteen years working as a Financial Adviser before choosing to become a stay-at-home dad for his two children who are now both in their teens.

Gurdeep was Raindrop’s very first Chairman and decided to step down from that role after six years so as to allow some fresh input into this next phase of the charity’s growth. He has been closely involved in a number of Raindrop’s fund raising efforts and has also visited our previous project in Igatpuri.  He will remain actively involved with the charity in his new role as a trustee.

 

Sanat Rao – Trustee

Sanat photo for websiteWith over 25 years of experience with financial services organisations, Sanat is presently the global head of a successful and well known Fintech organisation and works closely with banks in the areas of digital, blockchain and other emerging technologies.

Sanat is based in the UK and lives in Surrey with his wife and two teenage boys. While his work has taken him to over 70 countries globally, Sanat’s deep interest in travel has meant he and his family have travelled the globe but he particularly remembers a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with Roger Federer on one of his recent flights.  He has been a trustee for Raindrop since its inception.
